At 240 fps a frame lands every 4.2 ms, so a one-second swing gives you about 240 frames to pick a position from. Higher frame rates need more light.
The whole swing fits, the ground is in shot, and the golfer is large enough in frame for the landmarks to be read cleanly. Suggested distance for this setup: about 10.7 ft.
The figure is drawn face-on in both angles — it is there for scale, not to show the true silhouette.
Approximate model. It assumes a 26 mm-equivalent phone camera (69° across the long edge of a 16:9 frame), a 5 ft 10 in golfer, a phone held level rather than tilted, the reference swing's shape at the top, and a capture width of 4.5 ft down the line or 6 ft face on. Your lens, your height and a tilted phone all shift the numbers — use this to get close, then check the real preview on your phone.
How to use this
- Pick down-the-line or face-on, then set how far back the phone is and how high the lens sits.
- Watch the framing preview: if the club leaves the top of the frame at P4, you are too close.
- Aim for a verdict of good framing, then check the same setup in your phone's own camera app.
