About

A coach's eye, in your pocket.

SwingOK is a golf swing analysis app for iPhone. It films one swing, measures what your body and club actually did, and hands back the single change worth making. This page is the plain account of who is behind it and what it is for.

Why we are building it

Almost every golfer already carries a device capable of recording a swing in more detail than a coach's eye can resolve. Almost nobody uses it, because a slow-motion clip on its own is not feedback — it is homework. You film, you squint, you scrub back and forth, and you end up no more certain than when you started about which of the six things that looked slightly wrong is the one actually costing you shots.

The other end of the market has the opposite problem. Launch monitors and full biomechanics systems produce genuinely excellent data, and then hand you thirty numbers. Unless somebody qualified is standing next to you interpreting them, more data is not more insight. It is just a longer list.

SwingOK is our attempt at the missing middle: measurement good enough to be worth acting on, delivered as one instruction instead of a dashboard. The whole product is organised around a single opinion — that a golfer improves faster from one clear change repeated fifty times than from thirty observations repeated never.

What SwingOK is, and is not

What it does
  • Films your swing at 240 fps on an iPhone and trims the clip around impact automatically.
  • Places 33 body landmarks on every frame, entirely on the device.
  • Measures turn, sequence, path, face and shaft lean at the P1–P10 checkpoints.
  • Returns one prioritised fix, with the drill that trains it.
What it does not do
  • Upload your video for analysis. Capture and measurement happen on your phone.
  • Replace a coach. It measures; a coach decides what you personally should do next.
  • Prescribe physical training, mobility work or anything to do with pain or injury.
  • Sell your data, or run advertising trackers.

Who writes this content

Every guide and post on this site is written and reviewed by the SwingOK Team, and published under the SwingOK name rather than an individual byline. That is a deliberate choice. We are not going to attach a fictional coach's credentials to a page to make it look more authoritative, and we would rather you judge the work on whether it is accurate and useful than on a job title next to it.

The scope of what we publish is narrow on purpose. We describe golf swing mechanics and measurement — what the body and the club do, how those movements are measured on video, and what the numbers mean. We do not give physical training, conditioning, mobility or medical advice, and we do not write about pain or injury. If a piece describes a movement drill, it is a patterning drill and it is labelled as such.

None of it is a substitute for working with a qualified coach. General mechanics apply to everyone; what you should change depends on your build, your history and how you actually move, and that judgement needs a person who can watch you hit balls. Use our guides to understand what is being measured and why. Use a coach to decide what to do about it.

Our sourcing standards, our rule against publishing invented statistics, and how to tell us we've got something wrong are all set out in the editorial policy.
