An approximate model of the ball flight laws, not launch-monitor output. It attributes most of the start direction to the face and all of the curve to the face-to-path difference, and ignores loft, strike location, spin loft and wind — any of which can change a real shot's shape.
How to use this
- Set the face angle first: it decides where the ball starts, so the start direction moves with it.
- Then move the path. The gap between face and path — face-to-path — is what bends the flight.
- Try to reproduce your own miss, then read the face-to-path number that produced it.
