Your swings are edited on your phone.
This is the privacy policy for the SwingOK Editor iPhone app. It says what the app keeps on your iPhone, the few requests it makes to show you swings from r/GolfSwing, and what it never does.
Last updated
SwingOK Editor has no account, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking SDK, and its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. The videos you bring in, your drawings and every analysis stay on your iPhone and are never uploaded to us. To show the r/GolfSwing feed, the app downloads public posts from our server and public videos from Reddit; those downloads carry nothing about you beyond what any web request does.
What the app does on your iPhone
SwingOK Editor works on videos you choose to bring in: from the system photo picker, from Files, from another app's “Open in”, or from a public Reddit post. Each video is copied into the app's own storage, trimmed to the swing, and analysed there. The clips, any images or videos you export, your drawings and notes, and each swing's analysis are stored in the app's own storage on your iPhone. They are not added to your photo library unless you save them there yourself.
The analysis runs on the device: finding the swing in a video, body pose (Apple's Vision framework), the club and the ball (models built into the app) and the P1–P10 positions. There is no upload step and no server in that loop. We do not have a copy of your videos and could not produce one if asked, because we never receive them.
The app has no account and no sign-in. It contains no advertising, no analytics, and no third-party tracking or crash-reporting SDK, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. The app has no camera access at all.
Permissions the app asks for
- Photos (add only). So you can save a frame, a GIF or an edited video to your library. This is add-only access: SwingOK Editor cannot read or browse the photos already in your library.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition. Only if you choose to dictate a note or comment. Your speech is transcribed on the device by Apple's speech framework; the audio is not stored and is not sent to us. The first time you dictate, iOS may download its on-device speech model from Apple.
Importing from Photos uses the system photo picker, which runs outside the app. SwingOK Editor sees only the video you pick, and nothing else in your library.
The r/GolfSwing feed and Reddit links
The Feed tab shows public posts from r/GolfSwing and a few related golf communities. To show it, the app makes these requests, and only these:
- To swingok.com, for the list of posts, and for a single post when you paste a Reddit link into the app. The request contains the post's public id and nothing that identifies you. Our server does not log these requests.
- To Reddit's media servers (v.redd.it, i.redd.it and preview.redd.it), for the videos and pictures in those posts. When you paste a Reddit share link, the app also asks reddit.com which post the link points to.
As with any web request, these servers see your IP address. swingok.com is served through Cloudflare; Reddit's handling of requests is covered by Reddit's privacy policy. What you watch, hide or block in the feed is remembered on your iPhone only, to order the feed for you. It is never sent anywhere.
Posts, usernames and comments shown in the feed are public Reddit content, written by their authors. If you report a post, the app takes you to Reddit's own report flow.
When something else leaves your phone
Only when you send it. If you share a swing through the iOS share sheet, or choose to post it to Reddit, the clip, image or text goes to the app or website you picked, and from then on it is handled under that service's privacy policy, not ours. SwingOK Editor does not share anything on its own.
Beta builds only. Test builds distributed through TestFlight include a bug reporter. When a tester sends a report, it uploads what they wrote, an optional voice note or screen recording, the current screen, the device model, iOS version, app version and technical details of the swing involved, to a server we operate. Reports are used only to fix the app. Builds from the App Store contain no active bug reporter.
Deleting your data, and children
Because your swings live only on your iPhone, you are in control of them. Deleting a swing in the app deletes its files, and Settings clears downloaded feed videos. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored. There is no copy on our side to ask us to remove.
SwingOK Editor does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
