SwingOK sample swing · P4

The reference swing on this site reaches the top at 92° of shoulder turn and 51° of hip turn — 41° of separation. Its coaching note reads “hips are 7° over”, meaning the app measured seven more degrees of hip turn than its model expected for that particular swing. It is a comment on one recorded swing, not a number anybody else should be aiming at.

A drawing, not a measurement of you, and not a target. Separation is one description of a backswing shape among many; how much of it any individual golfer produces depends on things this page cannot see. Nothing here is advice about what to do with your body.

How to use this

  1. Move the two sliders to the angles you want to compare and read the separation between them.
  2. Load the SwingOK sample swing to see the reference values this site's skeleton reaches at P4.
  3. Use it to picture what a number means — it measures a shape, it does not prescribe one.
